"Fight as One: Anti-Japanese Guerrillas" Series Programme

2022 marks the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Hong Kong and Kowloon Independent Brigade of the East River Column. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and Japan's occupation of Hong Kong, the guerrilla force played an important role in supporting the resistance effort and made an immense contribution to China's victory in the war.

Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence will organise a series of programmes, including travelling exhibitions, thematic talks field visits and micro films screening. The public will gain a better understanding of the history of the War of Resistance in Hong Kong, as well as the Hong Kong and Kowloon Independent Brigade of the East River Column.

Field Visits to Anti-Japanese War Relics

Upcoming Field Visits

Eighty years ago, the Hong Kong and Kowloon Independent Brigade of the East River Column was founded in Sai Kung. After the fall of Hong Kong, they left a lot of footprints in the New Territories. In the site visits, participants will visit various anti-Japanese sites in search of the footprints and the history of the guerrilla force.
