Opened in July 2000, the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence has been welcoming visitors for 18 years. As its 20th anniversary approaches, the museum is currently closed for a major revamp. We look forward to meeting you with a fresh look. The new permanent exhibition, to be enriched with new topics, will adopt the latest display methods to narrate the history of Hong Kong's coastal defences and military affairs. We will also revamp the display along the Historical Trail for a more dynamic illustration.
During the closure, we are going to organise a rich array of outreach programmes, such as travelling exhibitions, public lectures, family workshops and field visits to local military sites. Special programmes are also designed for schools. For more details, please visit our website or check the museum newsletter later.
