This address book was presented from inhabitants of Hong Kong to Admiral Sir W. M. Dowell, then Commander-in-Chief of the British Naval Forces on the China Station, on 6th November 1885 on his departure from Hong Kong. It contains 329 signatures of the prominent people in Hong Kong at that time.
